Associate Professor Caroline Haythornthwaite Selected as NCSA Faculty Fellow

Posted: June 18, 2007

Congratulations to Associate Professor Caroline Haythornthwaite on being selected as an NCSA Faculty Fellow for the 2007-2008 academic year, for her project on "Analyzing Communal Conversations."

This year, eleven researchers from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and six scholars from across the country received fellowships to work with staff from the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA). These fellowships provide financial support to enable researchers to work with Illinois faculty to further their own research interests.

Haythornthwaite will work with NCSA's Michael Welge and Xavier Llora to develop techniques and tools to analyze the "communal conversation" created through e-mail, bulletin boards, chat, and blogs.
