Posted: September 3, 2010

Registration is now open for the 6th International Digital Curation Conference (iDCC). Presented jointly by the Graduate School of Library and Information Science (GSLIS) at the University of Illinois and the Digital Curation Centre (DCC), and in partnership with the Coalition for Networked Information (CNI), the conference will be held in Chicago, December 6-8, 2010.

Digital curation manages, maintains, preserves, and adds value to digital data throughout the lifecycle, reducing threats to long-term access, mitigating the risk of digital obsolescence and enhancing usefulness for research and scholarship.

The Programme Committee is co-chaired by Kevin Ashley, Director of the DCC; Liz Lyon, Associate Director of the DCC; Allen Renear, GSLIS Associate Professor and Associate Dean for Research; Melissa Cragin, GSLIS Research Assistant Professor; and Clifford Lynch, Executive Director of the CNI.

Featured speakers include GSLIS Dean John Unsworth, and Chris Lintott from University of Oxford & the Adler Planetarium. Elizabeth Babcock from the Field Museum will speak at the opening reception on December 6. The complete program is available online.
