Are you working at a library or information science-related job? If so, what do you do at your job on an average day? Yes, I am currently the business and patent & trademark librarian at Milwaukee Public Library in Milwaukee, WI. An average day in my position involves working at both a general reference desk, answering reader's advisory questions and computer troubleshooting, as well as a Business & Science reference desk. Our library is a Patent & Trademark Resource Center so I also assist people searching for patents and provide information on how to obtain and/or find patents and trademarks. A portion of my day is also spent on collection maintenance, both purchasing and weeding.

What is/was your favorite LIS class and why? Library Services to Children & YA. This might seem odd since I'm not a children's librarian, but I hold this class near and dear to my heart. Talk about emergent literacy, learn to engage kids of all ages, create life-long library lovers and don't forget to smile. Children's librarians are the best.

What is your favorite aspect of library and information science and why? Reference, with outreach a close second. I enjoy interacting with patrons and the entire information seeking process.
