GSLIS presents at ISLMA Conference

GSLIS and the Center for Children’s Books (CCB) will be well represented at the Illinois School Library Media Association Conference (ISLMA), held from November 6 - 8 at the Tinley Park Convention Center in Tinley Park, IL.

Deborah Stevenson, director of the Center for Children's Books and editor of the Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books, and Kate Quealy-Gainer, assistant editor of the Bulletin, will be discussing the various resources the CCB and BCCB have to offer, along with the CCB's recent research projects. Adjunct youth services professor Betty Bush and K-12 program coordinator Georgeann Burch will be co-presenting a two-part session entitled “Beyond Lexiles.” Burch will also be leading a session entitled “A Course, An Endorsement or a Degree: The GSLIS LEEP (Online Education) Program and You.”

GSLIS will hold an alumni reception on Friday, November 7 from 5:30 - 6:30 pm at the Tinley Park Convention Center. Keep an eye out for the many GSLIS alumni who should be there!

iSchool faculty, staff, and students will present their research at the 37th Conference on Neural Information Processing Systems (NeurIPS 2023), which will be held from December 10-16 in New Orleans, Louisiana. NeurIPS is one of the most prestigious and competitive international conferences in machine learning and computational neuroscience.

iSchool researchers present at 4S 2023

iSchool faculty, staff, and students presented their research at the Society for Social Studies of Science (4S) annual conference, which was held from November 8-11 in Honolulu, Hawaii. The society is an international, nonprofit association that fosters interdisciplinary scholarship in social studies of science, technology, and medicine.
