Oak Street High Density Storage Facility Tour

oakst.jpg?itok=RrkSRXmd The ALA Student Chapter's ACRL Committee is continuing to examine the changing landscape of academic librarianship with a tour of University Library's Oak Street High Density Storage Facility. This site, which opened in 2004, stores over three million volumes that don't circulate frequently. The facility is climate controlled to help preserve materials and the storage space is maximized with shelving up to 40 feet high. The high density storage area is not open to the public so join us for a tour!

The facility is a 10-15 minute walk from the iSchool. The 22 bus from the south door of the Main Library comes within two blocks of the facility to First and Daniel. Otherwise, if you need a ride, please indicate that on the ALA Facebook event for the tour since parking in the area is limited.
