Maximize your Chicago Trip: Networking How-Tos

Networking is more than swapping business cards and getting free snacks. Networking is about meeting and connecting with people and gaining valuable contacts to use in a job search and through a professional career. Career Services staff will highlight strategies for getting the most out of networking events, specifically how to prepare for the upcoming Chicago student and alumni networking reception on Friday, February 17. Topics will include how to make the most of a networking opportunity, developing your "pitch" or "elevator speech," and how to follow up and keep building your network after an event. For those unable to attend in person, the session will be streamed online through Blackboard Collaborate.
