Minitalk: ALA President Jim Neal's Call for Action on School Libraries

Join the iSchool and the Mortenson Center for International Library Programs for the Libraries, Literatures and Literacies Minitalks.

Jim Neal, President of the American Library Association, will present his Call for Action on School Libraries. Read his article kicking off the campaign for school libraries:

Neal, University Librarian Emeritus at Columbia University, served as Dean of University Libraries at Indiana University and Johns Hopkins University and held administrative positions in the libraries at Penn State, Notre Dame, and the City University of New York. He is and has helped to lead numerous professional associations, organizations and initiatives: OCLC, Association of Research Libraries, Research Libraries Group, National Information Standards Organization (NISO), the Digital Preservation Network, Freedom to Read Foundation, Metropolitan New York Library Council (METRO), and the Library Advisory Board of the University of the People.

Minitalks are 15 minutes of presentation plus 15 minutes of discussion for 30 minutes of learning.  Open to all interested parties.
