iSchool in Color was a Spring 2017 programming initiative undertaken by the iSchool Diversity Committee with the intention of fostering a greater sense of community by hosting events during February/Black History Month and March/Women’s History Month. Thus far we've collaborated with campus units such as the University Library Diversity Committee, the Women's Resource Center, and the Mortenson Center for International Library Programs; local groups such as the Champaign-Urbana Library Workers Meet-up and Sanctuary for the People; and iSchool groups such as the Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs, Center for Digital Inclusion, Student Services, and student groups including PLG and Stitch'n'Bitch. Enormous thanks to the anonymous donors who make our programs possible! We welcome your ideas and would love to work with you! The committee is eager to collaborate with individual students, faculty, and staff across the school. Please share your ideas, questions, or concerns by sending them to iSchoolinColor [at] gmail.com or submitting anonymously via the suggestion box on the Diversity Committee Moodle.
