The MSLIS—offered both online and on campus—provides an exceptional professional education. Students gain the skills they need to creatively and effectively manage, analyze, and preserve information. Graduates go on to fill leadership positions in a variety of information settings, including public, academic, and school libraries as well as healthcare, business, and science.

Within 6 months of graduation, 100% of alumni recieve their first offer of employment. Review our First Destinations Report Employment for librarians and library media specialists is projected to grow 3 percent from 2023 to 2033, about as fast as the average for all occupations. In 2023, median pay was $64,370. What are the requirements for admission?

  • The MSLIS program is flexible, and our application requirements are as well.
  • While a bachelor's degree is required, your degree can be in any discipline.

How do I apply?

  • Applications are due by September 16, 2025, for Spring 2026 admission and January 15, 2026, for Fall 2026 admission.
  • Visit the Graduate College's application page, review the information, and select the "Apply Now" button.
