IS 590DI Big Data Infrastructures for Research and Development

This course will explore how to create data infrastructures that support discovery and decision-making systems. It will consider decision principles for constructing systems for capture, management, and use of data across research and development (R&D). The evolving technical landscape will be the primary focus. Readings, case studies, and analytical activities will address the R&D continuum, design thinking, data governance, use and users (fit for purpose), sustainability, and ethics.
