Academic Support Center offers tutoring, resources

Students who are struggling academically or just need a little help can find assistance at the iSchool Academic Support Center. In addition to providing one-on-one tutoring to iSchool students and students enrolled in iSchool courses, the center offers academic success workshops, coordinates with faculty and instructors to provide support for specific courses or exams, and curates and shares academic support resources.

iSchool undergraduates selected as 2023 Community Academic Scholars

The Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Institute (IHSI), in partnership with the Center for Social and Behavioral Science and with support from the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion, has selected iSchool undergraduates Kaylee Janakos and Wondrous Jenkins as 2023 Community-Academic Scholars. The 18 scholars in this year's cohort represent eight colleges and schools and encompass a diverse array of fields of study, from community health to geography to economics.

BIG expands with addition of undergraduates

The Business Intelligence Group (BIG), a student consultancy group associated with Associate Professor Yoo-Seong Song's Applied Business Research class (IS 514), has expanded its size and scope this year. In addition to graduate students, BIG now welcomes iSchool undergraduates to serve as consultants.

Psi Eta Mu offers professional, social opportunities

Students from the iSchool and other majors who are interested in data science, information sciences, and information systems are welcome to join Psi Eta Mu, the School's official co-ed professional fraternity. Psi Eta Mu is currently holding its rush for the spring semester and plans to accept up to twenty new members.

Lehman joins advising team

Lauryn Lehman joined the iSchool as academic advisor and coordinator of undergraduate affairs on January 9. In this position, she will provide academic advising and support to students in the BS in information sciences (BSIS) and BSIS + Data Science (BSIS+DS) programs.
