iSchool's 130th anniversary celebration

130 years of the iSchool at Illinois

Join the School of Information Sciences as we celebrate our 130th anniversary with a reception at the American Writers Museum.

The program will feature a keynote address, presentation of the Library Trends issue (Festschrift) honoring the career of Professor Emerita Linda C. Smith, and presentation of the 2022 alumni awards.

In the keynote, “Captains, Watchers, and Guardians,” Danielle DuMerer, vice president of technology and information security at the Shedd Aquarium, will discuss the role of information science professionals in helping society to navigate through vast seas of data, fight against misinformation and fakes, and provide equitable access to information.

Attendees are invited to visit the museum’s exhibits before and after the program.

We hope you will be able to join us. Space is limited, so please RSVP by June 8.
