iSchool Teaching Excellence Workshop: Universal Design for Learning

Universal Design for Learning: Creating an Accessible, Inclusive Classroom
Presented by Melissa Wong

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) provides a framework for designing courses and lessons that are accessible to students with disabilities and create a more inclusive, supportive classroom for all students. In this workshop, participants will learn about UDL's framework of multiple means of engagement, representation, and action and expression; explore strategies for universal design in their courses; and have opportunities to engage in discussion and problem-solving with other participants.

As an iSchool instructor, Melissa Wong teaches courses in instruction, e-learning, and higher education. She also consults and presents on effective and inclusive instructional design on a regular basis.
