Sanfilippo to receive Outstanding Information Science Teacher Award from ASIS&T

The Association for Information Science & Technology (ASIS&T) is pleased to announce Madelyn Rose Sanfilippo as the winner of the 2026 ASIS&T Outstanding Information Science Teacher Award. Since 1980, this annual award has honored the unique teaching contributions of exceptional teachers of information science.

McDowell to receive ASIS&T Research Impact Award

Wang, students to present at ACM Web Conference

Professor and Associate Dean for Research Dong Wang and students from his Social Sensing and Intelligence Lab will be presenting papers at the ACM Web Conference in Dubai from June 29 to July 3.

This year, the American Library Association (ALA) celebrates its 150th anniversary in our backyard at its Chicago headquarters. As the oldest iSchool in the Midwest, our MSLIS program, established 133 years ago, has left an indelible mark on the ALA. Some of our alumni paused to reflect on their time at the iSchool and their tenure as leaders in the ALA.
