INFOcon is a collaborative three-day conference that will be held October 19-21 showcasing various traditional and nontraditional careers within the library and information sciences.

The goal of INFOcon is to 1) Increase awareness of the information sciences (both traditional and nontraditional) to peers, prospective students, and career services units within institutions; 2) Drive prospective students that are currently not in enrollment funnels for an LIS graduate/undergraduate program; and 3) Strengthen our iSchools network and brand. The iSchool at Illinois will be working with about 12 other schools of information to put on the event. Our School is very well represented among the featured speakers, offering the most sessions of any participating institution.

On October 19, iSchool speakers include:

  • Associate Professor Halil Kilicoglu, 10:00-11:00 a.m.
  • Associate Professor Sarah Park Dahlen, 1:45-2:45 p.m.
