Professional Pathways Speaker Series: Andrew Shaw
Professional Pathways invites a series of working professionals across library and information science to share their journey into their careers and experiences in the field! This is a career development series where students can understand the current professional landscape, and is not intended to be a career fair or employment seeking opportunity. The speakers cover a wide range of roles within library and information science, as well as information management, and as such this event is open to ALL iSchool students.
As Senior Vice President and Director of Corporate Insights and Information for Busey Bank, Andrew connects leaders with reporting that aids in decision-making throughout the $12B financial institution. Utilizing multiple BI tools, he oversees and produces data-driven insights based on everything from high-level financial trends to tens of millions of transaction-level details. He built his career at Busey from the ground up, spending time in Retail, Analyst, and Project Manager roles before finding his current position and leading a team of five analysts. In 2022, Andrew was a recipient of Central Illinois Business Magazine’s Forty Under 40 award selected by a panel of judges based on career achievements, leadership, and community involvement. He is a University of Illinois alum and enjoys all types of toddler-safe outdoor activities with his wife and young daughter.
