Abstract:
The public library offers distinct experiences of leisure and time to its public, but understanding who gets included within those conceptualizations of public warrants further interrogation. Exploring ideas of library time this presentation explores how public libraries are unique leisure spaces with with liberatory potential, however to understand this potential attention must first consider those with barriers of access to libraries (i.e., those experiencing homelessness) and what it means to include them in experiences leisure through such a unique public space.
