Kyu-Been Chun, Coordinator of Student and Academic Affairs

Kyu-Been Chun joined the iSchool this month as a coordinator of student and academic affairs. In his new role, he will support PhD students with their academic affairs, ensuring that they have the resources and guidance they need throughout their doctoral journey.

Chun is both familiar with campus and with PhD student life, having earned his BA in philosophy from the University of Illinois and his PhD in political science from Claremont Graduate University. Prior to joining the School, he worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Pennsylvania.

"I look forward to supporting graduate students at every stage of their academic journey," said Chun. "The doctoral process can be challenging, and just as I benefited from guidance during my own studies, I hope to provide the same support to others."

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their dog, Bori. Chun also loves to read and explore new topics.
