Biography
Guilherme Maia is a data science leader and adjunct lecturer at the School of Information Sciences at the University of Illinois. He is currently the lead data scientist at Ameren, following a tenure as site director of Ameren’s Digital Innovation Center. Previously, he held senior positions, including principal data scientist at Jabil and analytics lead at Anheuser-Busch InBev. Maia was a postdoctoral researcher at the U. of I. specializing in air pollution control and supply chain prescriptive analytics using system-level mathematical optimization. His technical expertise includes Causal AI, SCM, and modern data stacks. He is dedicated to training the next generation of data scientists by integrating academic frameworks with large-scale industrial AI experience.
