Jeanie Chung, Assistant Director for Communications and Content Strategy

Jeanie Chung has joined the Communications and Marketing team as assistant director of communications and content strategy. In this role, she will oversee story planning and content creation for digital and print communications, and she will also serve as the primary writer. She will also support the development, planning, and implementation of communications strategy by working with iSchool teams to promote degree programs, attract alumni support, and highlight faculty and student research.

Chung has spent more than three decades as a writer and editor, including as a sportswriter for the Chicago Sun-Times. She comes to the iSchool from Discovery Partners Institute, which is part of The Grainger College of Engineering.

"As the child of a retired librarian, I love the mission of the iSchool," she said. "I'm so excited to be a part of it."

At the moment, she spends much of her free time watching the World Cup, but usually when she’s not writing for work, she's often writing for fun, "torturing myself with a young adult novel I may never finish." She also enjoys reading, traveling, hiking, cooking, and eating.

She and her husband have a daughter, who will be a sophomore at William & Mary, and a senior beagle.
