IS 544 Administration and Management of Libraries and Information Centers

Designed to explore the principles that govern how organizations and institutions work, this course provides a foundation for and introduction to the theories, practices and procedures involved in the management and administration of libraries and information centers.

Learning objectives

  • Identify and implement best practices in human resources, financial management, strategic planning, evaluation, and change management
  • Identify and implement strategies to create an inclusive, culturally competent organization
  • Analyze contemporary professional issues and develop recommended actions, in order to be an effective leader in a library or information center
