CCB Brown Bag, "Outside Looking In: A Discussion About Disability in Literature for Young People"
Childhood is the time in our lives when we struggle to find acceptance as we form our individual identities. When compounded by a disability, the struggle becomes a battle. Presented by the Center for Children's Books and the GSLIS Diversity Committee, this brown bag explores the challenges of living with disabilities through moderated discussion of the following four books:
El Deafo by Cece Bell
Out of My Mind by Sharon Draper
Accidents of Nature by Harriet McBryde Johnson
Marcelo in the Real World by Francisco X. Stork
