IS 400 Colloquium

Abstract: Studies on finding employment show that most jobs are acquired through relationships. This puts many, especially marginalized groups, at a disadvantage and creates missed opportunities for both workers and employers. The increase of digital tools, like automated decision making, introduces new hopes and challenges in the landscape of talent acquisition and workforce management. Through a review of recent literature, we explore the opportunities for data governance to support proper and ethical data processing throughout the talent acquisition process. How might data governance improve inclusive connections in employment, enable new information avenues to scholars and the community, and address current employment issues such as discriminatory wage gaps?
