Mara Rúbia A A de Lima, Federal University of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre (UFCSPA) in Brazil, will present "Learning clinical reasoning in the AI era: How doctors can use AI to build a more equitable and trustful relationship with their patients."

Mara Rubia A A de Lima, MD, was a Global Health Fulbright Chair at Rutgers University (2021) where she shared her Brazilian professional experiences and projects involving local cultures and communities. She has remained active by participating in the 2023 Fulbright Advocacy Day at the U.S. Capitol. During the 2023 Fulbright Annual Conference on October 22, she will present the roundtable "AI-powered database analytics to improve healthcare, trust, and communication with patients" based on a project started at Rutgers University. At her home institution, the Federal University of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre (UFCSPA), Brazil, she teaches pulmonology, global health, and clinical reasoning. As a pulmonologist, her primary specialization is in chronic cough, and she has served as principal investigator in asthma clinical trials for 15 years. Dr. Lima is a member of the Inclusion and Diversity Committee and volunteers with the Rondon Project, coordinated by the Brazilian Ministry of Defense, providing community service with UFCSPA students in the Amazon. Additionally, Dr. Lima is a TEDx speaker about the Project. Extending her outreach activities, she presented at a parallel event to the UN Commission on the Status of Women and participated in the "WHO Technical Consultation on Building a Global University Curriculum for Infodemic Management." Dr. Lima's passion for global health was recently recognized by CUGH with an honorable mention in the Multimedia Global Health Contest and by her hometown in Brazil with the title of Honorable Citizen.
