"Take My Face Out of Your Sight!”: Strategies To Ban Facial Recognition in Brazil

Horrara Moreira is a lawyer, activist, researcher, and former coordinator of the national anti-surveillance campaign in Brazil, “Take My Face Out of Your Sight!” (Tire Meu Rosto Da Sua Mira). She will be joining us via Zoom to speak about digital activism efforts and strategies to ban facial recognition technologies in Brazil.

This workshop is part of a lecture series on AI Bias and Racial Justice in Brazil and is in collaboration between Kainen Bell (PhD student in Information Science), the Lemann Center for Brazilian Studies, and the Center for Global Studies' Global Intersection Grant.
