Professional Pathways Speaker Series: Lisa Watkins

Professional Pathways Speaker Series Lisa Watkins

Professional Pathways invites a series of working professionals across library and information science to share their journey into their careers and experiences in the field! This is a career development series where students can understand the current professional landscape, and is not intended to be a career fair or employment seeking opportunity. The speakers cover a wide range of roles within library and information science, as well as information management, and as such this event is open to ALL iSchool students.

Lisa Watkins, an alumna of the School of Information Sciences (MSLIS '19), is currently an Associate Project Manager at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA), with over a decade of experience at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She began her career as a Graphic Designer at the Illini Union, where she utilized her creative skills and started developing her project management abilities. Lisa further honed these skills as the Digital Marketing & Web Specialist at the iSchool. While earning her master’s degree, she deepened her passion for project management through coursework and involvement in two student consulting organizations. This experience paved the way for her role as Marketing Project Manager for Strategic Communications and Marketing before her current position at NCSA. With her diverse background, Lisa aims to inspire students to remain curious and explorative in their career journeys.
