Michelle Ellis joined the iSchool on April 7 as associate director of career services. In her new role, she will deliver career support to undergraduate and graduate students in the School.

For the past twenty-five years, Ellis has supported college students through various roles, including admissions, advising, and academic support. Prior to joining the iSchool, Ellis served as assistant director for access and enrichment programs in the Division of General Studies (soon to be Exploratory Studies) at the University of Illinois. She has also worked at The Jeffries Center (then the Office of Minority Student Affairs) and the College of Education at Illinois. Ellis holds a BA in advertising from the University of Illinois and MA in educational leadership and administration from Chicago State University.

"Over the years, I've been fortunate to be in spaces where students are celebrated, and I believe that the iSchool is also such a place," Ellis said of her decision to join the School. "I look forward to engaging with students and supporting them in pursuit of their career goals."

In her free time, Ellis enjoys reading, binge watching her favorite science fiction shows, and spending time with family and friends.
