Associate Professor Rachel Adler and Informatics PhD student Olive Wang will present their work at the Association for Computing Machinery Special Interest Group on Computer Science Education Conference on Research on Equity and Sustained Participation in Engineering, Computing, and Technology (RESPECT), which will be held in Chicago this week. The conference brings together researchers, educators, advocates, and policy-makers exploring equity, inclusion, and justice in computing and computing education. This year's theme is "Equity-focused CS Education: Honoring the Plurality of our Community."
Wang, co-advised by Adler and Deana McDonagh, professor of industrial design at the University of Illinois, will present "Exploring Identity through Accessibility, Immersion, and Playful Experiences" at the doctoral consortium on June 8.
Adler will present "The Most Important Feature Is Inclusion: Adding A Focus in Accessibility to an E-commerce Course for Novices" on June 9 and "Tracing the Impact: A Longitudinal Study of Accessibility Training" on June 10.
