Tracy appointed interim LIS librarian

The University of Illinois Library has appointed Daniel Tracy (MS ’12) to the position of interim library and information science (LIS) and research support services librarian, effective January 1. Tracy’s position will involve functions both within the University Library and at GSLIS in order to support the needs of faculty and students.

“I'm most looking forward to working with the great community at GSLIS and with the other librarians at the University Library,” Tracy said. “Being the librarian to the librarians will be an exciting challenge! Plus, the interdisciplinarity of library and information science gives me the opportunity to stay connected to a wide range of research.”

Before completing his GSLIS degree, Tracy earned an MA (2002) and PhD (2008) in English from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  He has worked as a graduate assistant at both the Chemistry Library and the Undergraduate Library on campus and has served as a representative to the Library Science Curriculum Committee at GSLIS.
