Davis-Kahl named ACRL/EBSS Distinguished Librarian

[image1-right]Stephanie Davis-Kahl (MS '98) has been selected by the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) to receive the 2014 Education and Behavioral Sciences Section (EBSS) Distinguished Education and Behavioral Sciences Librarian Award.

Davis-Kahl, scholarly communications librarian and associate professor at Illinois Wesleyan University, was selected for the award based on her contributions to the profession through accomplishments and service, which include holding multiple leadership positions in EBSS and ACRL as well as publishing on topics such as scholarly communication, library support of research programs, and information literacy.

A monetary and prize and citation will be presented to Davis-Kahl on June 28, 2014, during the EBSS program at the ALA Annual Conference.

Nitin Verma selected as a Public Voices fellow

Teaching Assistant Professor Nitin Verma is among the 20 faculty from the University of Illinois System who were selected for the 2026–2027 cohort of the Public Voices Fellowship. The program is part of a national initiative led by The OpEd Project to help experts from underrepresented groups to be positioned as public thought leaders in their fields and contribute to the national dialogue around important issues.

Wedgeworth to deliver the 2026 Windsor Lecture

Robert Wedgeworth (MSLIS '61), former University Librarian at Illinois and the iSchool's 1991 Distinguished Alumnus, will deliver the 2026 Windsor Lecture at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 9, online via Zoom. Room 126 in 501 E. Daniel Street will be available for viewing.
