Alumni to share experiences during Career Exploration Week

From September 15-18, GSLIS Student Affairs will host Career Exploration Week. The week will feature talks by professionals from different career areas in library and information science in order to help students explore the many options open to an LIS professional. Speakers will discuss how their professional interests developed and evolved, share what a typical work day is like, and offer advice for those interested in pursuing a similar path. There will be time for questions.

Events will be held at 7 p.m. virtually in the Student Services Meeting Room (GSLIS login and password required).

Wang appointed associate dean for research

The iSchool is pleased to announce that Professor Dong Wang has been appointed associate dean for research. In this role, Wang will provide leadership in the support, integration, communication, and administration of the iSchool's research and scholarship endeavors. This includes supervising the iSchool's Research Services unit, supporting the research centers, and assisting faculty in the acquisition of research funding.

The Bulletin announces 2025 Blue Ribbon awards

The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books (The Bulletin) has announced the 2025 Blue Ribbon awards, its annual selection of the best works in children's and young adult literature. Blue Ribbons are chosen annually by a committee of reviewers for The Bulletin and represent what they believe to be outstanding examples of youth literature.
