Talia Shaw has joined the iSchool as academic advisor and coordinator of graduate affairs. In this position, she will primarily provide academic advising and support to MS/LIS students as well as develop and facilitate programming/workshops, review applications for admission, and create new resources in collaboration with Student Affairs colleagues.

A recent MS/LIS graduate, Shaw has returned to the iSchool's Student Affairs team, where she previously worked as a graduate assistant, coordinating peer advising, newsletters, and NARCAN training for students. Her experience also includes serving over a decade as a health educator for the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District.

"I am thrilled to be back at the iSchool in this new capacity and look forward to working with a wonderful community of students, faculty, and staff," said Shaw. "I can't wait to get to know our students and facilitate programming that helps them feel valued, prepared, and connected during their time at the School."

In her free time, Shaw enjoys reading, crocheting, playing volleyball, traveling, eating at local restaurants, playing board games, and spending time with her husband and cat.
