Cross joins the Research Services team

Julia Cross
Julia Cross, Research Development Coordinator

Julia Cross joined the iSchool in January as a research development coordinator. In her position, she supports faculty during different stages of the research process, helps identify funding sources and pair researchers with specific solicitations, monitors compliance with different research protocols, and provides support to programs such as Scholars in Residence, research fellowships, and the student research experience. Her job duties also include organizing the iSchool's annual Research Showcase.

Cross previously worked as a senior library specialist for the Residence Hall Libraries at the University of Illinois. She holds an MSLIS from the iSchool, master's in human development from the University of Maryland, and bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Purdue University.

"As a teacher, administrator, and librarian, helping people is the thread that has connected my different careers," she said. "I am excited about supporting the faculty and students in their research endeavors and learning new skills along the way."

In her free time, Cross enjoys reading, traveling, and leading her ten-year-old daughter’s Girl Scout troop.
