Thousands of children’s books available at annual fall book sale

stack of books for sale

The Center for Children's Books will host a fall book sale and open house for all ages on Saturday, November 9. The sale will include hundreds of brand-new, hot-off-the-press children's and young adult titles at a steep discount. Staff book reviewers will be on hand to discuss their favorite books of 2024 and assist educators and community members in selecting titles for their classroom, school, or public library collections or for use as holiday gifts.

The free community book sale will be held in the first floor lobby at 614 E. Daniel Street in Champaign from 2:00-5:00 p.m. To attend the pre-sale (10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.), which will offer the best selection, please email bccb@illinois.edu to register and pay the $20 registration fee at the door.

"After visitors make their purchases, they are invited to visit our center's new location on the second floor of 501 E. Daniel Street," said Kate Quealy-Gainer, director of The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books. "At the center, they can browse, sit down with a copy of The Bulletin, or hear a story at one of our story times. Mark your calendars, tell your colleagues and friends, and get ready for a bookish adventure!"

All proceeds from the sale will support the Center for Children's Books, a reference and resource center for librarians, teachers, parents, scholars, and other educators, and The Bulletin of The Center for Children's Books, a review journal for youth literature. For more details, contact the BCCB at bccb@illinois.edu.
