Biography

Before returning to academe, Craig Evans had over 25 years of experience working in global corporations of 60,000 people, mid-sized corps of 500 people, and a startup that came out of a university project and founded a drone operations business. He has worked in a breadth of industries as well—primarily in IT/consulting roles, but in a range of domains including heavy manufacturing, mining, financial services, government, drone services (current), and even flipped burgers (high school). During that time, he realized the importance of the underlying data in varying fields, and the insight gained from aggregating data is far more valuable than the individual data points. His graduate work focused on social network analysis, which deepened his appreciation of databases and data structures.
