“Answering Your Burning Questions” is the theme for this year’s campus Summit on Online Education. Now in its fifth year, the interdisciplinary event is designed to provide a forum for researchers, educators, and learners, both on and off campus, to meet and discuss topics related to online, blended, and technology-enhanced learning. The event will take place on October 14 at the Illini Union and will be streamed live on the Summit website.

The keynote speaker this year is Kevin Carey, director of the Education Policy Program at New America, a nonprofit organization committed to the solution of public problems. Campus leaders will speak as well, including Michel Bellini, director of the Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning; Deanna Raineri, associate provost for educational innovation; and Edward Feser, interim provost. Linda C. Smith, GSLIS professor and associate dean for academic programs, and GSLIS Professor Michael Twidale will participate in roundtable discussions on economics and policy, and teaching, respectively.

This event is sponsored by the Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning and the Office of the Provost, and co-organized by the College of Education, the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, and GSLIS. Registration is free and open online through October 7. Registration is not required to view the live stream of the event.
