PhD student Mubarak Raji has been invited to join the Working Expert Group on AI Governance Interoperability. This group operates under the United Nations Office for Digital and Emerging Technologies' new AI Governance for Humanity Lab. "I am honored to join the AI Governance for Humanity Lab's Working Expert Group, where I will contribute to the development of a comprehensive, inclusive, and interoperable white paper on AI governance," said Raji. "This white paper aims to establish best practices for global AI safety protocols, promote transparency in AI systems, foster international collaboration, and ensure that AI remains trustworthy, beneficial, and inclusive for all of humanity."

His research interests explore the governance of Agentic AI and AI agents, and their unique privacy-related characteristics. Raji is also exploring the dynamic intersection of data privacy, AI governance, and ethics within the Global Majority, especially highlighting the unique challenges and opportunities in Africa.
