Schneider to present research at argumentation conference

Assistant Professor Jodi Schneider will discuss her medical informatics research at the 9th Conference of the International Society for the Study of Argumentation, which will be held July 3-6 at the University of Amsterdam. The conference brings together scholars from a variety of disciplines who are working in the field of argumentation theory. 

Senseney, Tracy participate in Digital Humanities 2018

Megan Senseney, research scientist for the Center for Informatics Research in Science and Scholarship (CIRSS), and Daniel G. Tracy, information sciences and digital humanities librarian at the iSchool and assistant professor at the University Library, will present their research at Digital Humanities 2018, which will be held on June 26-29 in Mexico City.

Diesner to present research at Sunbelt Conference

Assistant Professor and PhD Program Director Jana Diesner is a sessions chair and presenter for the 38th Sunbelt Conference, which will be held on June 26-July 1 in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The conference provides a venue for social scientists, mathematicians, computer scientists, ethnologists, epidemiologists, public health experts, and others to present current work in the area of social networks.

Renear delivers keynote at symposium in Armenia

iSchool Dean Allen Renear was a keynote speaker at the symposium, "Libraries in the 21st Century: Best Practices and International Trends," on June 4 in Dilijan, Armenia. The symposium was part of the inauguration ceremonies for the Vartan Gregorian Learning Center at UWC (United World Colleges) Dilijan College.

iSchool faculty, staff, and students will participate in the 2018 American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference and Exhibition in New Orleans, Louisiana, on June 21-26.

Stevenson to present App Authors project at children’s literature symposium

Deborah Stevenson, director of The Center for Children's Books at the iSchool, will present the App Authors research project at the Border-Crossing in Children’s Literature: The Second International Symposium for Children's Literature, which will be held on June 14-15 at Princeton University.

Stodden to discuss reproducibility at University of Utah

Associate Professor Victoria Stodden will be a keynote speaker at the second annual Building Research Integrity Through Reproducibility conference, which will be held on June 15 at the University of Utah. She will also moderate the panel, "What Universities Do (and Don't Do) to Influence (or not) Research Reproducibility."
